Welcome
I'm so happy you stopped by to check out my books. I've been writing for more than a decade, and I love every minute of it.
When I started writing, I wanted to tell stories about people who felt real to me. Women who looked like me, who were amazing women but who didn’t fit into the pint sized molds we were told to squeeze into. Women with full lives and full hearts who had shit luck with men.
The men had to be special. Each woman needed a man who would look at her and love all the things society said she should change. He needed to love all her curves, all her flaws, and all her crazy. He needed to pick her, exactly as she is.
I believe romance still exists. I see it every day, and I hope you see it, too.
RANDOM FACTS ABOUT MARY
- I have a bachelors degree in chemical engineering and an MBA, both from the University of South Carolina. Go Cocks! (Yes, we really do shout that all the time!)
- I love sports. My favorite sport to watch is football, but I’m a fan of just about every sport. I can carry a conversation about many sports, including soccer, hockey, baseball, basketball, lacrosse, tennis, rugby, track and cross country, wrestling, gymnastics, and probably a few more.
- I asked my husband out three times before he agreed, and I got lost twice on my way to his house. After that, he was stuck with me! We've been married 20+ years and have two teenagers. All book sales might go toward my wine fund.
- I’m an introvert and a night owl. I don’t cook (unless it’s pasta), I do not do well with plants, and my love languages are water (have you noticed how many of my books are set near a lake?) and sarcasm. Bring me to a pool and make me laugh, and I’m set for life!
- I prefer cats to dogs, being inside to outside, sunsets over sunrises. I love purple, daisies, seahorses, and black pearls. If everyone else likes it, I probably don’t.
USA TODAY Bestselling Author Mary E Thompson spent most of her childhood wishing she had a few less curves. She hid in the pages of books because her favorite characters never cared what size her clothes were. Now, neither does Mary, and she writes stories that celebrate women like her. Real women who have curves, chase dreams, and find love, because we should all be happy, no matter our dress size.
Mary spends her non-writing time with her husband and two kids, watching too much TV, cheering for her hometown football team (Go Bills!), and hiding chocolate from her family.
