#FiveOnFriday with Me!

April 21, 2017 by Mary

My guest author for today wasn’t able to provide a post, but it works out for me because I wanted to share something with you!

I’ve teamed up with 55+ fantastic medium to steamy small town contemporary romance authors to give away a huge collection of novels to 2 lucky winners, PLUS a Kindle Fire to the Grand Prize winner!  You can win my novel, Plump & Pretty, plus books from authors like Marie Force and Carly Phillips!

Enter the giveaway by clicking here: bit.ly/small-town-rom-2

Good luck, and enjoy!

But it is Five On Friday, so I wanted to share a few things about the Big & Beautiful series that you might not know!

  1. I wrote the first eight books out of order. Plump & Pretty was actually the fourth book I wrote, even though it falls sixth in the series. Shapely & Stunning was eighth. The first book I wrote was Chubby & Charming though.
  2. I had no idea Tara and Olivia knew each other until I wrote the epilogue for Puffy & Precious. On top of that, I didn’t know why they weren’t friends anymore until I wrote about it in Round & Ravishing.
  3. When I first envisioned Abby, she was a skinny woman, and she was not going to end up as one of the friends with a book. By the time I revised Fluffy & Fabulous, I liked Abby enough that I wanted to give her a story of her own.
  4. I didn’t know Olivia’s full story until I started writing Curvaceous & Captivating. I knew she was divorced, but I wasn’t sure why her ex left.
  5. My two favorite couples have been Carrie and Drew, from Husky & Hot, and Olivia and Ethan, from Curvaceous & Captivating. They were the two that extracted the most emotion for me.

If you haven’t checked out the series yet, Chubby & Charming is free everywhere! And don’t forget to enter the contest to win one of two copies of Plump & Pretty, plus over 55 books from other steamy, small town contemporary authors.

I’m still celebrating release week today. Stop by and say hi to me and Ann Everett!

Have a great Friday!

Husky & Hot, so sweet

April 12, 2016 by Mary

Husky & HotJust in case you haven’t picked up Husky & Hot yet, I wanted to make sure you knew how sweet Drew was. He’s heartbroken and getting over his ex, but he’s also simply perfect for Carrie. And he proves it over and over again!

Excerpt from Husky & Hot

“There you are,” his voice came from behind me. “I’ve been looking for you all week.”

I turned and gave him an annoyed and confused look. “You’re my boss. You know where I am 40 hours a week.”

“Whoa. What did I do?”

I shook my head. He didn’t need my jealousy creating problems. He was getting over his ex and that was good. I cared about him enough to want him to be happy, although being happy without me was a little annoying.

“Nothing. You did nothing. What did you need from me?”

“This isn’t nothing, Carrie. Talk to me. I thought we were more than boss and employee.”

“You don’t need to worry about my personal life. It’s fine. Why were you looking for me?”

“I, uh… I was wondering what you’re doing tonight?” He ran his hand through his hair and looked entirely too adorable. Drew was not the kind of man I’d ever think of as being adorable. Sexy. Hot. Badass. Yes. But adorable? Only at that moment.

“I don’t have any plans tonight. Did you need me to work late?”

“What?” he snapped. “No. I wanted to go out. On a date. With you.”

“Wait, what?”

He chuckled. “I wanted you to go out with me. I was thinking of fixing you dinner at my place, if you’re interested. If not… don’t worry about it. I was just-“

“I do. I mean, yes. I thought you were… Never mind.”

“You thought what?”

“Don’t worry about it.”

“Carrie, what’s going on? I thought we were okay. Better than okay the other day. What’s changed?”

I took a deep breath for strength and dug deep. Telling him what I’d thought all week and what Xander said about him… oh, who cared.

“You acted like the other day was a one time thing. Then Xander told Mandy you’d gotten lucky but wouldn’t talk about it and everyone said that meant it was just a one time hook-up. When you spent the week acting like you’d gotten some I just figured you met someone.”

“Wait a minute,” he said, holding up his hand for me to stop. “Okay, first of all, I don’t know what I did to make you think the other day was a one time thing, but I’d hoped it wouldn’t be. As for Xander, well he’s a dick. I didn’t tell him anything because I didn’t want him to think differently of you for being with me. As for you… I haven’t been able to think about anything other than the way you screamed my name the other day. Sitting at that desk gives me a hard-on because I see you sprawled over it, open for me. I’ve basically been useless all week.”

Husky & Hot, release day

April 5, 2016 by Mary

Husky & HotIt’s here, it’s here! Drew and Carrie’s story is finally here!

I’m so excited to share this story with you. I know everyone was waiting for this book to come because we all love Drew, but I love Carrie just as much. Truth be told, I created Carrie first then Drew, but liked him so much I decided to weave him through the series a little bit. I’m glad you fell in love with him as much as I did! And we’re all glad Brandi is gone.

Excerpt from Husky & Hot

Drew came over to my side of the table and leaned against the edge of the wood surface. “Thank you. That was a huge help today. Going by what you said, we never would have landed the client, but you were dead on. In all the conversations we had with her she expressed her concern over changing too much. We honored that, but weren’t showing it the right way. We have you to thank.”

I got to my feet and was nearly eye level with him thanks to my heels and him half sitting. Specks of gold floated in the brown depths and my breath kicked up. His eyes held mine then flicked down to my lips. Unconsciously my tongue glided over my lips and his eyes widened as he sucked in a breath. He looked back into my eyes and I could see how badly he wanted me.

The tension between us was so thick I didn’t think I’d be able to move, but I did. My feet carried me closer to him, unintentionally. I took a step, still far enough away that he couldn’t touch me with his arms extended, but getting closer. Another step and another and his hand reached out for mine.

Then someone cleared their throat.

I jumped back, shocked and ashamed. I don’t know what I would have done if I’d made it all the way into his arms, but I had a few ideas.

Instead I turned to the door and saw his mother standing there glaring at me. Her dark eyes narrowed at me, pinching her brows together. Her bun pulled her hair tight, making her look even more like a mean old school librarian than her loose fitting paisley dress that fell to her ankles. Her canvas shoes explained how she was able to sneak up on us, and nearly catch… something.

“Mom!” Drew exclaimed, leaping up from the table. “What a great surprise. What are you doing here?”

Come over to Anna Durand’s blog today and say hi! I’m sharing a little more about Husky & Hot. And pick up your copy today!

Husky & Hot, first kiss

March 29, 2016 by Mary

Husky & HotHusky & Hot is just a week away! I know you’ve been dying to read Drew’s story, and I know Carrie is the perfect one for him. Of course, it’s not simple, especially since they’re strangers when they meet. Not that it stops them!

Excerpt from Husky & Hot

I finally met his eyes and offered a barely perceptible shrug that he interpreted as agreement. I didn’t argue as he gently guided me away from the crowd and down a deserted hallway. He directed me into an office and locked the door as he pressed me against it.

His mouth came down over mine as his hands closed over my ass cheeks. Definitely an ass man. He dragged me tight against him, his erection already raging between us. His kiss was insistent, his tongue wasting no time before plunging into my mouth. I fought him for control but gave up when he nipped my lip. Yeah, I liked that, too.

My heart rate climbed with every nip and suck. His lips drifted from mine and trailed down my neck, nibbling my skin until he reached the edge of my shirt. His hands left my ass to slide under my skirt and where he cupped my bare cheeks, teasing the edge of my thong, and groaned.

“Jesus, you’re hot,” he mumbled against my neck.

He spun us around and backed me up to the large dark wood desk that dominated the room. I hoped it wasn’t Xander’s office for about a second, then he kissed me again and I didn’t care. My head spun just from the way he kissed, the feel of his thick tongue inside my mouth. I wondered what else he had that was thick.

Husky & Hot Cover Reveal

March 1, 2016 by Mary

BB 7 Cover 1

Husky & Hot is by far the steamiest book I’ve ever written. It was a ton of fun though. Carrie and Drew (yes, Xander’s friend, Drew) burn up the pages in this story of heartbreak, going for your dreams, and finding out who’s really there for you when your world falls apart.

Carrie has only ever wanted to be a mom. She went to college, hoping to find the man of her dreams, and majored in business, just to have something to do. Now, years out of college, Carrie is still single, still childless, and still working a job she despises.

In one night her whole life seems to change. She hooks up with a guy at a party, a guy who isn’t at all who he seemed. Then Carrie gets a new job, one that gets her away from Beth the Bitch, the boss she hates. But when the guy and the job collide, Carrie doesn’t know if she can handle it all, or if it’s bringing her closer to what she’s always wanted or pushing her away.

Excerpt from Husky & Hot

Then I saw him across the room. It’s so cliche to say the world stopped, but… no, it didn’t stop. But I did. He was gorgeous. Tall, dark hair, stubbled jaw, tequila colored eyes… yep, I was sunk. His broad shoulders and trim waist were enough to get my attention, but when I saw the tattoos covering his exposed forearm I nearly drooled.

I was a sucker for tattooed men.

His forearm was completely covered with colors. From my distance I couldn’t make out what any of the tattoos were, but it was hot.

His black dress shirt was rolled up to his elbows and looked amazing with his khakis. I wanted to peel that shirt off and see how many more tattoos he had. It was absolutely ridiculous.

Then I saw him watching me. Busted. I smiled and raised my glass to him, not remotely worried about the hot guy catching me checking him out. I turned back to the party and tried to look interested in the conversation around me. Damn, where was Riley, or Charlie, or Sam, shit anyone.

I weaved through the crowd, looking for someone to talk to. Instead I ended up near the edge of the room again. The bar was close so I downed the rest of my drink and headed that way.

“Are you having fun?” a smooth voice asked from directly behind me when I was in line at the bar. He was close enough that I could feel his heat through the thin fabric of my tank top. Without looking I knew it was the hottie from across the room.

“I know a few things that could make it… more fun,” I teased, looking over my shoulder.

I wasn’t a fool. If he came over to hit on me, he liked some of what he saw. I was a size 20, nowhere near skinny, but my skirt accentuated my assets and he was obviously an ass man. I had plenty of ass to spare, but my curves were relatively well balanced for being as big as I was.

Not that I minded my size. I loved being a bit husky. It meant men couldn’t push me around, literally and figuratively, as much. When I stood my ground I was an oak tree, not a toothpick swaying in the breeze.

“Maybe we should find someplace a little quieter so we can explore those options,” he whispered, his breath tickling my cheek.

Husky & Hot, sneak peak 1

February 19, 2015 by Mary

I’m so excited about my next series, Big & Beautiful. It’ll be out late in the summer, probably September, but I’ve written four of the eight books and couldn’t wait to share another peak with you.

This is book seven, Husky & Hot. It’s by far the steamiest of the books with a sassy, dirty minded woman and a sexy, dirty mouthed man. These two were amazing to write about and I struggled to let them go. I hope you love them as much as I did!

Husky & Hot

My words snapped something inside him and within seconds my skirt was around my hips, my panties gone, and his jeans were on the floor. I watched as he rolled a condom down his long length. He pulled me to the edge of the desk and propped my feet up next to my hips so I was open for him.

I felt him at my entrance, teasing my overly sensitive flesh. My hips bounced with his movements until he sunk inside me fully. I moaned at the feel of him deep inside, filling me completely. He leaned over me, our bodies melting together. “Can you come like this?”

I bit my lip and shook my head. “I never have before,” I admitted.

Drew’s determined look told me he was going to try.

His body moved slowly along mine, his hips drifting away before meeting mine again. The simmer my body had been on was still there, but it was fading. Disappointment flooded me as I realized sex with Drew was not going to be nearly as good as not sex with Drew had been.

He watched me intently. His eyes searched my face and I saw the tension in his. “Get that bored look off your beautiful face. I’m going to fuck you so good all you’ll be able to do is grin for the next week,” he growled.

I cocked my eyebrow at him in challenge and he smirked back at me. “I knew you’d like dirty talk. Every time I talked to you last time you moaned louder. I thought for sure we were going to get caught. But this time… There’s no one here to hear your screams. And dammit, I’m gonna make you scream, Carrie.”

He thrust harder into me as he spoke the last sentence. My head spun with the feeling, the simmer turning up to a low heat.

“Oh, you like that, don’t you? I knew you’d like it hard and fast.”

He crashed into me, sending me reeling all over again. I started to moan and move with him, my hips meeting his stroke for stroke. He leaned over me again and clasped one of my bouncing breasts in his hand, rolling my taut nipple between his rough fingers. The feel sent lightning bolts straight to where we were joined and my heart pounded under his hand.

“I love watching your breasts bounce. Every time our bodies meet your breasts move and it makes me harder watching those beautiful tits mimic our movements. One day I’m going to make you come just touching those. But for today, oh today you’re going to come from my cock alone.”

“Drew,” slipped past my lips as my body tightened around him.

“Oh, there we go, baby. I want to hear it. I want to hear how loud you get when you come. I’ve been dreaming about hearing you again, about making you scream while I was inside you. I’m not stopping until you scream, Carrie.”

“Oh, Drew,” I moaned louder. My body was under his control. I couldn’t feel my legs, my arms, anything… except Drew. I felt every slide of his body within mine, every pinch of his fingers on my nipple, every press of his lips against my neck.

I was close. So close it was almost painful. I wanted to lose myself, to forget everything except Drew. His voice slipped through the fog.

“Come for me, Carrie. Now, baby. Come hard. Let me be the only man to fuck it out of you. Now, Carrie. Scream my name. NOW!”

He bellowed the last word with me. My words blended together but I know his name was the word I said the most. Our bodies slammed together, shaking the desk and nearly toppling his monitor. I reached up to grab something, anything, to anchor me. My head was spiraling into nothing and my body was going right along with it in the most amazing orgasm of my life.

My hand connected with Drew’s and he wrapped our fingers together. He grabbed my other hand and lifted them both to the sides of my head. Drew leaned over me, his body colliding with mine as our hands gripped each other. “Beautiful, so beautiful,” Drew whispered right before he yelled my name. I felt his erection expand then pump into me.

My body throbbed with pleasure. After a moment Drew collapsed on top of me, his head nestled just under my chin. I wrapped my legs around him and felt him stir within me. He groaned then kissed my neck. “You smell so good.”

I snorted. I was covered in sweat and probably smelled like an old gym sock. Then again, he was sweaty and he smelled like heaven.
