Q&A Sunday: Favorite Season

September 25, 2016 by Mary

The weather finally got cool enough yesterday for me to put my flip flops away. It’s a mixed blessing for me. But I felt like it was time to answer this question from Vicki…

What is your favorite season???

Fall.

Hands down.

Why? I know you want to know why.

Summer is my least favorite season. It’s hot and I get sunburned and I don’t like it. Now, I love to swim, but I grew up spoiled with an indoor pool and don’t love swimming outdoors. In Buffalo, the weather is only good enough to swim two months, if we’re lucky, so I can’t even say swimming is a draw to summer.

fallen-yellow-leavesBut… when fall hits, I’m ready for summer to be over. I want the cooler weather and the beautiful colors of the changing leaves. I’m ready for the end of the year. I’m ready for the holidays. I’m ready for football and soccer and comfort foods and new tv shows.

After fall, I like spring. It’s still not too hot and my birthday is in spring. It’s hard to argue with that one. After spring is winter because the cold doesn’t bother me. I think if we had a backyard the kids could play in, winter might bump up to second or even first place for me. Unfortunately, we’re still in our apartment so winter requires a lot of supervision. One day…

For now though, I’m thrilled to be in fall. I’m watching football and new episodes of shows. I’m leaving my patio door open to get some fresh air. I’m enjoying the cooler weather for a change. I know it’ll be cold before long, but right now it’s pretty perfect for me!

Thanks so much, Vicki, for your question! If you have a question, send me an email (mary (at) maryethompson (dot) com) with Q&A in the subject, or post it in the comments below, and I’ll answer your question right here on the blog!

Ten people were taken from my city over the weeken Ten people were taken from my city over the weekend. Ten people who did nothing wrong. The person who took their lives was filled was hate and took it out on innocent people. #BuffaloNY is the City of Good Neighbors. I didn't know those ten people, but I feel their loss like the rest of my city does. We are all neighbors, and we all hurting.

My thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends of Aaron Salter, Ruth Whitfield, Pearl Young, Celestine Chaney, Roberta Drury, Heyward Patterson, Margus Morrison, Andre Mackneil, Geraldine Talley, and Katherine Massey; and with the survivors: Zaire Goodman, Jennifer Warrington, and Christopher Braden.
