#FiveOnFriday with Me!

Tags :

My guest author for today wasn’t able to provide a post, but it works out for me because I wanted to share something with you!

I’ve teamed up with 55+ fantastic medium to steamy small town contemporary romance authors to give away a huge collection of novels to 2 lucky winners, PLUS a Kindle Fire to the Grand Prize winner!  You can win my novel, Plump & Pretty, plus books from authors like Marie Force and Carly Phillips!

Enter the giveaway by clicking here: bit.ly/small-town-rom-2

Good luck, and enjoy!

But it is Five On Friday, so I wanted to share a few things about the Big & Beautiful series that you might not know!

  1. I wrote the first eight books out of order. Plump & Pretty was actually the fourth book I wrote, even though it falls sixth in the series. Shapely & Stunning was eighth. The first book I wrote was Chubby & Charming though.
  2. I had no idea Tara and Olivia knew each other until I wrote the epilogue for Puffy & Precious. On top of that, I didn’t know why they weren’t friends anymore until I wrote about it in Round & Ravishing.
  3. When I first envisioned Abby, she was a skinny woman, and she was not going to end up as one of the friends with a book. By the time I revised Fluffy & Fabulous, I liked Abby enough that I wanted to give her a story of her own.
  4. I didn’t know Olivia’s full story until I started writing Curvaceous & Captivating. I knew she was divorced, but I wasn’t sure why her ex left.
  5. My two favorite couples have been Carrie and Drew, from Husky & Hot, and Olivia and Ethan, from Curvaceous & Captivating. They were the two that extracted the most emotion for me.

If you haven’t checked out the series yet, Chubby & Charming is free everywhere! And don’t forget to enter the contest to win one of two copies of Plump & Pretty, plus over 55 books from other steamy, small town contemporary authors.

I’m still celebrating release week today. Stop by and say hi to me and Ann Everett!

Have a great Friday!

Plump & Pretty, now available!

Tags :

I’m smiling like a crazy person right now! Plump & Pretty is available and you guys are making my dreams come true! Seriously. I’ve been wanting to be a writer for a long time and I’m so insanely grateful to you for finding me, following me, friending me, and reading my books. Today it all hit home how amazing my job is and how much I appreciate you. I’ve always felt it, but with another release I realized all over again just how fabulous you are and how much I adore you.

Thank you. With all my heart, thank you.

I’m celebrating Plump & Pretty today! I loved Riley. She’s built very similar to me and I have thought many times how cool it would be to work in a bookstore. That’s why I think I have the coolest job ever… I get to test out a bunch of different jobs as I write about them.

Plump & Pretty

Riley faces some tough decisions in Plump & Pretty. She is a really happy person, but, like everyone, she wants more. She has to decide what is the most important thing in her life, and what she’s willing to sacrifice for it.

Riley is a quiet woman. She likes to read, hides behind her books. She doesn’t date much and thinks no one would be interested in the quiet, plump girl with her nose in a book.

Connor was the high school hottie. Riley knew of him, but never knew him. So when he approaches her at a wedding she’s baffled that he knows she exists let alone knows her name.

When everything Riley’s ever wanted seems almost within her reach she starts to wonder if it’s possible, or if it was just a dream all along.

Excerpt from Plump & Pretty

At the restaurant he opened my car door again and guided me inside with a warm hand resting on the center of my lower back. He helped me remove my coat for the coat check – holy crap the place was pricey! Once my outfit was exposed Connor blew out a deep breath and whispered, “Damn.”

I turned to see him clutching my jacket, his eyes roving my body and blazing my skin. “Jesus, you need to keep this on,” he growled, thrusting my jacket back at me.

“What, why?”

“Because every man in here is going to want to take you home.”

I rolled my eyes. “You worry too much. No one’s even going to notice me.”

His eyes scalded my body as he looked me up and down slowly all over again. When they finally met mine I saw raw lust in his gaze. A sight that not only shocked me but nearly made me moan with desire. Connor shoved my coat at the woman behind the coat check desk and snatched the ticket from her hand before guiding me, warm hand blazing my back again, to the hostess stand.

Plump & Pretty first kiss

Tags :

Plump & PrettyPlump & Pretty is coming next week! Riley was such a great character to write. She’s sort of like the person I always wanted to be. She works in a bookstore (something I always thought would be so much fun), she loves to sew (me too), and she’s confident in who she is (who doesn’t want to be that). She wants love, sure, but she had other dreams and goals. Her big dream was owning the book store she worked at, READ.

Too bad Connor has other things on his mind besides work…

Excerpt from Plump & Pretty

I sighed heavily, hoping he was right. His fingers continued rubbing between my eyes, something that was more soothing than I ever thought possible. Instead of being self conscious sitting next to Connor Lee, I felt myself slipping further and further away from my worries. I was relaxed, content even. I still felt lost as far as my career went, but I was okay with it.

Connor’s finger moved over my forehead and his hand tunneled through my hair. He massaged my head softly, working down over my scalp to the tight muscles in my neck. A moan slipped from my lips, unconsciously, and I felt my cheeks heat with embarrassment. Connor froze for a second, barely long enough for me to notice, then his hand moved again, cupping my cheek.

I wondered for a brief second what he was doing, then I felt his breath on my face, followed by his lips on mine.

Connor Lee was kissing me!

My teenaged self was doing a happy dance inside, while the rest of me was getting lost in the soft press of his delicious lips against mine. A hint of coffee and chocolate from the mocha clung to his lips. His hand slid around to my neck, and he leaned over me further, his tongue tracing the seam of my lips.

My lips parted for his tongue without hesitation. As his tongue swept through my mouth I tasted the coffee on his breath and the mocha on his tongue. I wanted more and eagerly met his kiss with my own excitement. His other hand went to my waist and held me against the soft leather of the seat.

Wait.

Leather seat. Mocha cupcakes. Coffee. Connor Lee. Me? Something wasn’t right.

My hands moved to his shoulders and pushed.

Hard.

Plump & Pretty Cover Reveal

BB 6 Cover 1

Riley is a quiet woman. She likes to read, hides behind her books. She doesn’t date much and thinks no one would be interested in the quiet, plump girl with her nose in a book.

Connor was the high school hottie. Riley knew of him, but never knew him. So when he approaches her at a wedding she’s baffled that he knows she exists let alone knows her name.

When everything Riley’s ever wanted seems almost within her reach she starts to wonder if it’s possible, or if it was just a dream all along.

Excerpt from Plump & Pretty

My reaction to him was instant and undesirable. I didn’t want to want him still. It’d been almost twelve years since I’d seen him, but he was as gorgeous as he’d been back in high school, maybe even hotter. His chest was bigger, wider with his shoulders. His waist narrowed in a way I could only dream about. His hands, always my weakness with men, were thick and strong. I knew he was 6’4”, one of the many statistics I’d memorized about him. His blue dress pants and white shirt could have been cut from the finest of fabrics, but only being on his body made them look that good. Hell, even his skinny tie, that perfectly matched his pants, helped make him look hotter. I kept looking up and saw his blue eyes blazing with a fire I’d never seen directed at me before. A small smile quirked the edge of his mouth, making me realize I was staring at him.

And in turn my friends were staring at me.

Shit.

“Who’s Connor Lee?” Carrie asked, her eyes bouncing between us like she was watching a tennis match. The question in her gaze told me she was trying to decide if he was off limits, and if he was worth her time.

I shook my head and broke away from his gaze. He wasn’t looking at me, he couldn’t have been. I didn’t want to look behind me to find the thin, gorgeous woman he’d been smiling at. After all, Connor Lee didn’t know who I was. There was no reason for him to be looking at me.

Except for that whole staring at him thing.

“Connor Lee is just someone I went to high school with. Mr. Popular, dated the prettiest girls, had all the cool parties, you know the type.”

Lexi and Carrie nodded. “The hottest guy in school that every girl dreamed would walk up to her one day and kiss her. So what’s your history with him?”

I scoffed. “My history? Non-existent. He didn’t even know I existed in high school. He was a year ahead of me, but his senior year he dated a girl in my homeroom. Her locker was next to mine so I saw them making out all the time, but he never saw me.”

Carrie narrowed her eyes in his direction as though looking at him would tell her if he was a jerk. Of course, knowing Carrie, she might actually be able to read something on his skin that told her the truth. As for me though, I wasn’t going to even glance in his direction again. Connor Lee was as far out of my league as you could get. There was no reason to even care that he was at the wedding. It didn’t matter.

“He’s still looking over here,” Lexi stated as though it would make a difference.

I rolled my eyes. “He’s probably checking out someone behind us. Or maybe he thinks I look vaguely familiar and is trying to imagine me 100 pounds lighter, when he’d actually have given me a second glance. Let’s go to the reception.”
